458-2925 x113

Sister Joellen is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, which is also her home town. She was raised on a small dairy farm and has one sister and brother, a sister-in-law as well as a wonderful extended family which includes nine nieces and nephews, thirteen great nieces and nephews and a great great niece in Wisconsin.

She received her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Dayton and has worked in the field of education for over forty years -- seventeen of which as a school principal.

Sister has taught in Wisconsin, Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, and Nebraska. She is not new to the Diocese, having served as Principal at San Xavier Mission School in Tucson, and at Immaculate Conception School in Yuma.

She previously taught religion classes at Guardian Angels Central Catholic in West Point, Nebraska.

She has enjoyed returning to Arizona and working with everyone at St. Andrew’s as our Director of Religious Education. She enjoys assisting parents in the faith formation of their children including making their First Communion and Confirmation.”

Sister Joellen just celebrated thirty plus years of profession as a religious Sister and is ready to enjoy many more.

Sister welcomes any young woman to stop in and speak with her about religious life and why her vocation has been so rewarding to her.

Rebecca Williams

Music Director
[email protected]

Rebecca has been our music director since 1993. In that capacity, she makes sure that there is music for all our Masses on weekends as well as Masses requiring music on other special days, plus weddings and funerals. She can be found at the Saturday evening Mass and the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass every weekend, plus the Spanish Mass. She trains the Teen Band, and the children’s choir in bell ringing.

From her lack of accent, one would never know Rebecca was born and raised in the Deep South. Upon graduating cum laude from Vanderbilt University, she joined the Peace Corps, teaching music in Barbados. After that she toured with R&B, reggae and "Top 40's" groups. This mother of two daughters in college describes herself as a news junkie.
