1) Those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age; 2) those about to undergo surgery; 3) the elderly weakened by age, even if no serious illness is present; 4) sick children who are sufficiently mature to be comforted by the Sacrament. Many of our older parishioners find great comfort in receiving the Sacrament of Anointing each month.
Since 1992, February 11th, the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, has been observed as the World Day of Prayer for the Sick and so the Sacrament of Anointing for Healing will be celebrated this Thursday at the conclusion of the 9:00 and 12:05 noon Masses! Whether we are able to attend Mass that day or not, it is a wonderful opportunity to pray for those who are ill, perhaps visit them, or drop them a short note or a card telling them that you are praying for them in a special way that day! This past week, we received $745.75 in NEW gifts and pledges to our Building Fund! Every dollar given speeds up the pay-off on our construction loan and because of the savings in interest, actually is worth about $1.60! How is that for getting more value for your dollar!
